There is possible shipwreck remains of a ship in Monument Harbour. For full details see Norm Judd's research which includes photos from Chris Glasin taken in 1972.

 

Other reports of possible shipwreck remain are from Northwest Bay. First reported by Armstrong in 1868, then Filhol in 1874 and again by members of the Bencleugh in 1877. There was nothing to identify the wreck.
